If you haven’t had the delicious pleasure of trying natural wine with Vietnamese inspired Californian food, look no further than the upcoming popup Ha’s Đặc Biệt is having, hosted by local beloved natural wine bar Voodoo Vin. Ha’s Đặc Biệt, led by partners Anthony Ha and Sadie Mae Burns, have been cooking up mouthwatering Vietnamese inspired dishes for years now exclusively at popups. Pair that with Voodoo Vin’s vast selection of natural wines and that’s a recipe for a great meal and a great night. However, like all of their other popups, it’s limited time only from September 12-17, so make sure to book your reservation on Resy before it gets booked up. Voodoo Vin also doesn’t have a ton of seating, so act fast.

Ha’s Đặc Biệt is no stranger to the popup game. A good friend of mine and fellow foodie had the opportunity to go to one of their popups over the summer in Paris and he told me it was a “top 2 best meal” he’s ever had. His words, not mine. Ha’s Đặc Biệt started their popup journey in late 2019 and have mainly served in New York, but have also branched out to cities such as Paris and now Los Angeles, their first popup on the west coast. They have built up a pretty large following since then too, amassing over 25,000 instagram followers.

Ha’s Đặc Biệt’s exclusivity is a major part of their appeal. The fact that you never really know what they’re up to or where they’re going to cook next just makes me want it more. That’s why I’m making sure to snag a table as soon as possible. Catch me next week sipping on a glass of orange wine and indulging in some Vietnamese food. I hope to see you there.
