So many messages were sent to our faces last night. The location, the time of the day …

A post-pandemic-going-pre-world-war-3 is where we are not. Where going to sleep means maybe waking up to a totally different reality tomorrow.

Would I rather escape this reality with a more ethereal vision of our future, yes, of course but fashion is, and always was, a direct reflection of our society, our anxiety as much as our wildest dreams. I guess this is where we are right now. Do we need to picture ourselves (if we make it) through a post apocalyptic world?

Is Nicolas Ghesquière trying to send us all a message of “is this where you guys want to go?” or maybe he is giving us hope that after the chaos, the beauty of art expressed in fashion will rise from the ashes of a civilization again?
