Multi-platinum sensation and pop-rap party-starter Saweetie continues her hot streak today with the release of her steamy Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 EP on ICY/Warner Records. Each of the set’s 7 tracks feels like a party, welcoming a host of electric guests including L.A. rap innovator Drakeo the Ruler and rising Sacramento vocalist Kendra Jae. On every track, including “Risky” with Drakeo, Saweetie’s charisma and confidence are on full display, reminding us why she’s one of rap’s most exciting young superstars. Listen HERE.
Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 shows off several sounds and styles. There are rippling, minimal club anthems like “Risky,” on which she casually flexes and preaches the joys of living recklessly. There are lush, lusty tracks like “Backseat,” which finds Saweetie and Lourdie embracing the magnetism of desire. Saweetie also uses the EP as a chance to flex her taste, hopping on already-hot tracks like Bbyafricka’s “Baby Mama Coochie” and Loui’s infectious TikTok hit “Talkin’ Bout.” Throughout the EP, she weaves together winding bars and hilarious punchlines, demonstrating that she’s become not only one of music’s most engaging personalities, but a gifted stylist as well. There are few rappers working with as much range.
The video for “Risky” is as spicy as the song. Saweetie and Drakeo The Ruler get down and dirty in the visual directed by both Saweetie and FakeDell. Watch HERE.
For Saweetie, Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 is the latest entry in an extremely productive run. In January, she dropped the banging club cut “Best Friend” with Doja Cat, on which the duo traded bars celebrating each others’ success, beauty, and independence. Billboard called it “the girl power anthem of 2021,” and fans connected too. It’s garnered over 105 million streams on YouTube alone and hit #1 at radio. Saweetie followed that track in March with a UK remix featuring the beloved British MC Stefflon Don. Recently, Saweetie partnered with the Australian eyewear company Quay for their Spring collection. As part of the campaign launch, Saweetie and Quay are launching a scholarship program to give 10 students $10,000 scholarships. Check out the new collection HERE.
While “Best Friend” scores Zoom hangouts and socially distanced gatherings for lifelong pals waiting for the club to reopen, the Cosmopolitan cover star is preparing for the release of her debut album, Pretty B*tch Music. With production from Danja, Lil John, Murda Beatz, and more, Pretty B*tch Music is the soundtrack to Saweetie’s movement, which encourages all women to define their own “pretty.” She’s said before that her empowered definition of “b*tch” is “boss, independent, tough, CEO, and hyphy.” Pretty B*tch Music arrives this summer, and if Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 is any indication, watch what Saweetie does next!

Flaunting nineties rhyme reverence, fashion-forward fire, and endless charisma, Saweetie—born Diamonté Harper—can go bar-for-bar with the best of ‘em, and fans and critics immediately recognized and responded to that. Within six months, she cracked 100 million cumulative streams, garnered a gold plaque, and earned the praise of Billboard, The FADER, and Noisey as Los Angeles Times pegged her as “one to watch.” Drawing on a passion for poetry and numerous years of rapping in the car, she turned her love for words into vivid verses during 2018 on the High Maintenance EP with her smash hit “ICY GRL” earning an RIAA platinum certification. What’s more, 2019 saw the release of Saweetie’s ICY EP, spawning double-platinum viral sensation “My Type” as well as a 2020 BET Awards nomination for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist.”  With 2.3 billion global streams, Saweetie continues to soar with anthems such as RIAA platinum certified “Tap In” and #1 urban & rhythm radio hits “Back To The Streets” and “Best Friend,” which propelled her as one of five women to earn 3 #1’s on the Rhythmic songs chart.
As a businesswoman, she launched her sold-out ICY jewelry line, partnered with PrettyLittleThing for a 50-piece capsule collection and Australian eyewear brand Quay for their spring collection and scholarship program, granting ten winners 10k each to further support their education. Meanwhile, everyone from Gwen Stefani, Demi Lovato, David Guetta, Dua Lipa, Wiz Khalifa, and G-Eazy has enlisted her for guest spots. A true fashionista, she has graced the cover of Cosmopolitan, Elite Daily, Maxim and Wonderland, in addition to appearing in V Magazine, Instyle, C.R. Fashion Book, Interview, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar.
