For jazz lovers…
If you want to impress your companion or your friends, the show is for you!
Today, March 2nd, Lizzy & The Triggermen, a trailblazing, 10-piece, throwback swing/jazz band, make their official SXSW debut at Parker Jazz Club (March 19) and Miles Davis House at Antone’s (March 21). The team will release a new EP, “Good Songs For Bad Times” on April 10th, the EP features a new re-imagined take on “Someday” by The Strokes as an instant grat. The single releases March 13. Check it out here.
Dubbed “10-piece jazz sensations” by LA Weekly and “one of the hottest swing bands in LA” by Good Day LA. Lizzy & The Triggermen is doing for 1930s big band what Amy Winehouse and the Dap-Kings did for 60s music: taking the old and making it feel arrestingly new. It’s definitely the best show of Jazz!
In just a year, the band has headlined and sold-out shows at premier venues such as the Wiltern Theatre, the El Rey and the Troubadour before even releasing a single track, just through word-of-mouth about their electric live shows which has organically built them a dedicated following.
Be it songs about female empowerment, gaslighting, or the world ending – Lizzy & The Triggermen has an undeniable ability to take the topics of today. And, turn them into gloriously raucous dance music that recharges the spirit in that way only a full horn section can.
Helmed by the powerhouse vocals, songwriting chops and femme fatale swagger of Lizzy and a dream team of veteran jazz musicians… The band transports the audience to a glamorous, golden-era experience that is edgy and a bit underground.
