The 51st NAACP Image Awards took place this weekend, honoring African-Americans in film, TV, music, and literature. The genre-spanning awards show was hosted by “black-ish” star Anthony Anderson. Rihanna received the President’s Award, while Congressman John Lewis received the Chairman’s Award.
Among the big winners of the night was musician Lizzo, who won the big Entertainer of the Year award. Lizzo’s fellow nominees were actress Angela Bassett, actor Billy Porter, actress Regina King, and producer Tyler Perry. What a star-studded category!
The awards aired Saturday on BET.
