We love a good resort collection. Monaco is not my favorite destination on the glamorous French Riviera, but like it or not, Monaco is a destination for the rich and famous, the rich and anonymous … in short, anything with as rich in front is right at home in Monaco.
Chanel, unveiled its 2022-23 cruise collection at the Hotel Monte-Carlo Beach in Monaco. As for why Monaco, Virginie Viard, Chanel’s creative director, said in her show notes it was “a matter of feeling”.
I get it, growing up in the South of France, Monaco was in the 90’s the entertainment equivalent of today’s Real Housewives. The glam, the princesses, the drama, the sun and crystal clear water … all eyes were on Monaco. Caroline’s daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, is currently a face of Chanel. The sage continues and Chanel is here to give us a slice of perfection.
