If you’ve been on instagram, pinterest, or even in an urban city during the past year, you’ve seen Adidas Sambas. The classic silhouette defines arguably the sneaker of the past year, with countless collaborations bombarding the streets of New York and your Instagram explore page. Arguably the most popular of these collaborations is the ones with English fashion brand, Wales Bonner. The two brands have collaborated on 8 previous iterations of the Samba, and they’re back with 4 more, releasing November 8th.
Wales Bonner x Adidas ‘Core Black’ (Offspring)
This collaboration is strictly about the Sambas. Out of the 4 colorways, ‘Core Black’ and ‘Fox Brown’ are composed of leather and a short hair suede, whereas ‘Cream White’ and ‘Dark Brown’ are made out of fine pony hair.

Far too many times we have seen two brands collaborate to the point where they can’t make anything unique or original anymore. This is not the case with Wales Bonner and Adidas. Even 12 colorways in, they are able to make a timeless and classic silhouette such as the Samba fresh and exciting.

From perforated leather, to shiny gloss silver, to now fine pony hair, Wales Bonner has no problem experimenting with different textures while still staying true to the classic charm that the Samba brings. This new collection comes just in time for winter, and the materials and earth tone colors reflect that.

This collaboration makes one thing clear – the Samba isn’t going anywhere for 2024. And I’m here for it, what Wales Bonner is doing with Adidas is something the entire fashion industry should aim to be doing – revitalizing timeless and classic designs with fun and fresh ideas. Sneakers are the epitome of streetwear and Wales Bonner x Adidas are making some really really good ones.
