Bright souls that inspire us all, keep reading on to discover more from our BELLO WATCH!

Congratulations on your latest release, “Numb”! How have you been since its release?

Thank you! I’ve been great, I’m currently in LA, I was here when Numb was released. It’s been an amazing trip so far, I’ve been writing and shooting and doing some really exciting things!

In what ways did releasing this song help you release certain emotions?

It didn’t if I’m being honest with you. I wrote this song a really long time ago, I wrote it about emotions that had happened to me in the past, but weren’t currently happening to me at the time, so I was able to remove myself from the emotion when writing it, and now since it’s been released. I think a lot of people can relate to this song though.

When listening to “Numb,” what do you hope people will feel?

I think the feeling of being numb to your partner towards the end of a relationship is super relatable. Of course it’s really hard when you fall out of love with someone, and the feelings start to die, but I hope people listen to the song and release they aren’t alone when it comes to these hard feelings. It happens a lot, and it’s unfortunate, but it’s life!

The lyric video is great! How did that process go?

Thank you! I knew I just wanted to make sure that it was a true representation of me. I do a lot of shoots and often getting the pictures back you see only one side, very posey and serious. But shooting is fun, and it’s one of my favorite things to do, so I wanted to show the process and show the fun, more smiley side to me. Even though the song isn’t necessarily happy, visually it’s a nice change to anything I’ve done before.

Tell us more about the people you worked with on this project. What did each of you bring to the table?

I work with a very small group of people. It’s taken me a really really long time to find my team, and to find the people that I feel most comfortable with. I think when creating anything the main thing is to feel comfortable. Everyone on this project is so talented, and they’ve become like family, so they’ve all brought their own individual, amazing qualities, and it’s great that I can now call them all such close friends, but also be able to work so well with them.

What has your experience been like climbing in the music industry? Any particular success (or fail) story you’d like to share?

It’s been a difficult one. I signed for the first time when I was very young. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do, or what kind of artist I wanted to be. Of course, when you’re not sure and you sign to a major label, the major label is going to mold you into what they think you should be, and that’s where it all went wrong for me at the start. Even though I wasn’t exactly sure what kind of music I wanted to make, I knew what I was inspired by, and that was taken away from me. I’m not necessarily upset about it anymore, I do definitely feel like it helped me grow up quickly, and thought me so much, I needed to find myself, it took a while but I got there, and funnily enough I think that process helped me, even though it didn’t seem like it at the time.

How do you use (or hope to use) your platform to promote more than music?

I just want people to know that they can be themselves, I want my fans and anyone who listens to my music to know that we don’t have to be conventional, we can step outside the box and make people feel a bit uncomfortable at times, it doesn’t always have to be safe. We can speak our minds and be honest, sometimes you have to be selfish and live for yourself and that’s ok.

What is your purpose?

My purpose is to make people feel something with my music and my voice. I want to write lyrics that people can really relate to, and I want to inspire people. I want to be the next VOICE that goes down in history as one of the greats.
