Sometimes you just need to get away with the girls, and a weekend in San Diego is just the place to do this. With lots of sunshine, beautiful beaches, and terrific food, San Diego is the perfect escape and the perfect location to connect with your friends.

Here are some tips for planning the perfect girls weekend in San Diego:

  1. Go on a Food Tour

Going on a local food tour with your girlfriends is a can’t-fail proposition. A San Diego food tour will take you through different neighborhoods, such as the Gaslamp Quarter, and to different restaurants, where you can taste all the fabulous food America’s Finest City has to offer. Just make sure that you are plenty hungry before you go on one of these tours;  there will be no shortage of wonderful dishes to try and you will want to try every last one of them.

  1. Visit Wineries and Breweries

While you may not think of wine when you think of San Diego, the area has some excellent wineries that you can visit, such as the Bernardo Winery, which is also a historic landmark. There are also good wineries in the Poway area as well. If beer is more of your thing, San Diego has some of the best craft breweries in the country and many of these have tasting rooms, especially in the Miramar and Mira Mesa areas. Visiting one of them can be the perfect way to complete a day spent on a food tour.

  1. Go to the Beach

It is almost a crime to visit San Diego and not go to one of the many wonderful beaches they have, where you can show off in your favorite bikini. These beaches include Mission Beach, which is so big that you will always be able to find a space of your own. Also great is La Jolla Shores, which — while it can get a little crowded — is well worth a visit. Finally, if you are looking for a place the locals like to go, check out Windansea Beach.

  1. Partake in Water Sports

While there is nothing wrong with laying out in the sand all day while admiring the view, why not have some fun in the water, too? San Diego offers lots of opportunities for paddle-boarding and riding Duffy boats. You can also take a kayak tour of La Jolla Coves, where you just may see some sea lions and seals.

  1. Go Skydiving

If you are feeling adventurous, San Diego offers terrific opportunities for skydiving, where you literally can get a birds-eye view of just how beautiful the area is. What’s more, this is the perfect chance to bond with your girlfriends while sharing an experience that you can talk about for the rest of your lives.

  1. Go Out on the Town

San Diego is famous for lots of things, such as its food and beaches and beautiful weather. Another of the things it is known for is its nightlife. Whatever type of bar or club you enjoy, you can be certain that you will find multitudes of them in San Diego. Just make sure that you give yourself enough time to visit lots of them.
