Tell us a little more about your most recent single “vicious.” What inspired you to write it?
I knew for a fact that I needed to take my music to the next level, so I tried to find a different vibe for vicious. It’s way more fierce and intense than any of my other music, which shows off a totally different side of me.
You have been very busy lately! What motivates you the most to write?
When I don’t talk about an issue or situation out loud with someone, it’s for sure going to be put in a song. My writing is just a combination of all my random bottled up thoughts and daily experiences.
When you were younger, did you ever imagine you would be where you are today?
Never in a million years. Getting to sing and dance every day is a dream for real, and the fact that my family is so supportive of it makes it a million times better.
How have you spent the last 4 months?
Lots and lots of school hahah. I’ve also been working, recording, filming, and dancing a lot — doing as much as I can not being able to travel.
Evidently, there is a lot of change and progress in the air. What do you believe is a key way to send out a positive message?
I think being as optimistic as possible about everything, is the only thing that will keep you going. With everything that has gone on in 2020, putting your head down and working towards your goal is the best way to stay positive.
When you are not writing songs, what do you enjoy doing?
Dancing, hanging with my friends, and going to the lake to wake surf!
Who has been the biggest musical influence in your life?
I have always been a huge fan of post malone, khalid, and jessie reyez. I love their music so much and they will forever inspire me on the daily.
Now, who has been your biggest influence in life in general and why?
Definitely my parents. They are the most supportive people ever, and are constantly pushing me to be the best version of myself. I would not be where I am without them.
Share with us a memorable moment in your life and how it had an impact on who you are today.
Some of my craziest moments actually happened this year…. first headlining tour, seeing myself on billboards, filming music videos – it’s been kinna surreal lately.
What comes next ?
Lots new music, including my second EP! Hopefully I’ll be able to travel soon, start filming proper videos, and get back on the road with my band.
