Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet is has announced that they are teaming up with London-based artist Lawenka. Their goal is to advance the artist’s messages of empowerment in celebration of Woman’s Day 2020.

The collection will showcase Lawenka’s iconic murals on apparel. It aims to put optimism at the forefront with statements like, “RAISE YOUR HOPES”, “LIFT YOU HIGHER” and “POWER”. These strong words matched with the designs of Bendet will transform the clothing into wearable art.

Lakwena’s artwork combines vivid colors and decorative patters that draw on both her background in graphic design and her own personal history. Bendet spoke out about her excitement toward working with Lakwena saying,“I love the positivity and graphic beauty of Lakwena’s artwork, each of her works are visual symbols of strength and optimism!”

Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet plans to donate 10% of sales to LifeWay Network. This is an organization fighting to end human tafficking by raising consciousness and providing safe housing as well as mentorship to survivors. Lakwena shared her happiness about the collaboration supporting LifeWay saying, “I’ve loved seeing my paintings come to life in a different form through this collaboration with Alice+Olivia. I’m really happy that we’re also able to use this as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with survivors of sex trafficking.”

According to the UN, human trafficking affects every single country in the world, yet it’s rarely ever at the center of the news or a major problem listed by politicians. Awareness is huge as it keeps people alert and aware of the tactics that traffickers use.

The collection will be available at the brand’s retail locations, department and specialty store accounts, and e-commerce starting March 1, 2020.
