Smoky Jardin d’Hiver Large Night Bird placemats by Dior for a fashionable table arrangement. It also make for a beautiful centerpiece.

Without further ado, even before consulting the architect, I said yes and put all of my heart into decorating this new home. This is how Christian Dior described his love at first sight for the apartment at 7 Boulevard Jules-Sandeau in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Fascinated by his passion for the art of living, Maria Grazia Chiuri draws inspiration from this unique address – and more specifically from Mr. Dior’s winter garden, embodied in a silk panel embroidered with plants, flowers and birds.
Like a soft echo, elegant designs reveal clematis, peonies and even dahlias and swallows are transposed upon carafes, porcelain plates and embroidered placemats as well. Embroidered pillows, notebooks and candles in various colors complete the line, joining heritage and modernity in homage to the passion cultivated by Mr. Dior. Living in a house that doesn’t resemble you, the designer would note, is a bit like wearing someone else’s clothing.
