Riley Clemmons is a beautiful, smart, and talented artist who is being put on the maps. Born and raised in Nashville, she has always known music was going to have an important place in her heart and life from a young age. Hoping to inspire hope, grace, love and forgiveness, her music has a purpose–and a strong one at that. Here at BELLO, we had the chance to get to know a little more about the talented artist from her purpose as an artist to her hidden talents. More music is on its way so keep your eyes, mind, and heart open!

Tell us a little more about your path to becoming an artist.

Born and raised in Nashville, I’ve grown up around music, and always gravitated towards writing and creating. When I was twelve, I met my manager at a middle school choir concert, (he was there to see his daughter). Within the month I started taking writing sessions in Nashville. I signed my first publishing deal at 15, and signed with Capitol CMG at 16.

When you came out with your song “Over and Over,” what did you want your audience to feel when listening to it?

I wanted the listeners to feel hope… to feel the beauty of grace, love, and forgiveness.

Where do you tend to draw inspiration from when writing new music?

I pull inspiration from whatever I’m experiencing at the given moment. My goal has always been to write music that’s vulnerable… so, most of the songs come from the highs and lows of life as I’m living it. I also pull inspiration from the stories and experiences of the people around me, as well as the music I’m surrounded by.

We are excited to hear that you are coming out with a song with Lauren Alaina! Can you tell us a little more about this collab?

I’m so excited that this song is out into the world. When talks of creating a version of “Over and Over’ as a duet first emerged, Lauren was my first choice. Her voice brings so much power, light, and beauty to this song. I’m thrilled that we had the opportunity to collaborate.

Share with us a moment you two shared that had a great impact on you.

Her kindness is next level. She was so quick to reach out, and show love and excitement over being a part of this song. I’m such a fan of her and her voice, so that was really special to experience.

When merging your voice with hers, were there any obstacles? If so, how did you overcome them?

My brilliant producer, Jordan Sapp made combining our voices effortless. He has such an ear for hearing voices and tones in tandem. He made the process feel so organic and natural.

Quarantine has been a big test for all of us. How do you spend your spare time?

Cooking, reading, exercising, painting, writing, singing, sleeping, family time!!

Tell us a bit more about your hometown/family.

We’re all incredibly close and tight knit. I’m grateful for such a solid support system. Despite everything, we’ve enjoyed this time together.

Who has been your biggest role model?

My mom – the most resilient woman I know.

What is a hidden talent you have?

I have a pretty solid australian accent.

What is coming next?

More music. I can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on. I can’t wait to be back on the road playing shows and meeting people. There’s so much to look forward to. I can’t wait.
