Happy Friday guys! And indeed a happy Friday it is. Young artist, Maeta, has just released her EP “Habits.” Having worked on this project for about two years, she can’t wait for everyone to hear it and be a part of it! Maeta poured her heart and soul into this which shows! Using her talents to hopefully heal those around her, the talented artist is on the rise! Keep climbing girl!
What are you most excited about the release of your EP “Habits”?
I’m just excited for everybody to hear the music. I’ve been working on this project for about 2 years, and it’s been hard to keep it all to myself! I can’t wait to hear what everybody thinks. I worked with a lot of incredible people, some even being on my musical bucket list.
Share with us the writing/creating process. Did you encounter any obstacles?
Every song on the project I recorded at least twice. I’m really picky about my vocals, and every song was a process to get it to sound perfect to me. It also took a few sessions to get the features right, so no song was done in one session.
Who is someone you connected with strongly while creating the project.
I connected with Beam pretty strongly. I met him at a session with Skrillex, unrelated to our song “Toxic”, and we ended up being friends first before the song was ever born. That song happened very organically, and I made some new friends out of it!!!
When you write, is there a place or person you usually think of?
Of course, especially since my whole project was mostly about one person. I try to fall away from them, but I always linger back, especially with this project.
Tell us more about what makes you happy. What fills your heart with light?
Good food, especially pasta, laughing, the ocean, late night sessions, sleep – those are some of my favorite things about my life.
As an artist, what do you believe your purpose is?
I think my purpose is to use my gift to heal or lift up others. Or be a voice to people who feel like they are misunderstood or unheard, which is what music does for me. I don’t think our purposes are for ourselves, but to somehow help other people.
Being a young artist, what are some things that you would like to accomplish as well (your bucket list)?
I just want to connect with as many possible people through music, from all over the world.
I can’t wait until people know my songs from countries that don’t even speak the same language as me.
If you could go back to a moment in time, which would you pick and why?
I would pick Michigan when I was a kid. We used to go there every summer. All my family was together, and I was so young and free, and didn’t have any cares! I miss those days.
Growing up, who was your biggest supporter?
Probably my mom. She’s paid for so many plane tickets, hotels, vocal lessons, all that stuff just to see me live out my dreams. I owe it all to her for the sacrifices she’s made.
What can fans expect next?
My project! I’ve been working on my EP Habits for almost two years and can’t wait to get it out for fans who have been begging for new music! There are so many amazing people involved in this project. I’m very proud of it.
